2021, 20” x 24” Acrylic on Canvas

So crisp and so clean! This fresh new piece from @jeremy_legge is a bold new maturation of the continuing evolution in his style. As mentioned in the @_sel.one post prior to this, we met in person in 2018 at the @kind_mind_campout through my friend @polishshoepolish

I had heard of Jeremy and seen his work online, but the first opportunity to experience him paint in person, and learning what a sweet and humble soul he is, sealed the deal. I wanted to support this up and comer, who was right on the cusp of greatness! I always enjoy seeing a young artist pull inspiration from other artists I know, learn new techniques, and then transmute it into their own unique aesthetic as they find their voice.

With Legge based in Manhattan, we kept in touch online, I invested in a couple works from him, and then by Thanksgiving 2018 I planned a trip to Brooklyn for a @tippermusicextravaganza. With very little time to get settled before the first night of music, Jeremy met me as I left the airport and navigated me to where I was staying with @bankduds and then furthered ushered us to the show! Finding such kindness and accommodation in the tough city of NYC really enhanced my experience.

Since this time, he has continued to impress with his ventures in painting. With a style that balances between chaos and control, “Sloped” is, in my opinion, his cleanest and BOLDest piece to date!

•The smooth curvature is a nice contrast to the sharp angles and squares prevalent in much of his work

•Instead of expressive splatters and loose brushstrokes, Jeremy chose to vary the line weight of the black and other edges to make this image pop

•His excellent selection of color stands out as always; sticking with a spectrum of purples that range between a bright regal blend and a subdued mauve, with the pinks and blacks providing supreme contrast
