On the note of good people, Tyler is one of the most positive, genuine, and kind individuals I’ve come across. Positivity powerhouse Paulky played with teeny tiny brushes on this large canvas, his biggest of 67 completed works in 2020 (aside from murals). This painting is an adventure for the eyes, with the following features:
•NEWish: set in Tyler’s new style, with vertical splashes of paint cascading down like waterfalls, creating a surreal landscape upon which he doodles. Those fond of @mrdoodle will enjoy the stream of consciousness directly applied to canvas, the whacky shapes and characters flowing from artists brain with no actual reference images.
•Combining new and old: Paulk has been drawing a particular character for years, with a squinting eye, and rounded edges morphing into appendages. It reminds me of @keith_haring finding simplified forms and using bold colors with thick black lines to create his iconic imagery. Dig into @tpaulky feed to see my association! This character makes an appearance in this new “landscape” style, in the green section on the left and the blue section on the right on either side of the central river.
•The seemingly chaotic jumbled piles of shapes and figures becomes less chaotic as you follow sections by veins of color, and then recognize similar patterns and shapes all over the piece! It has my eyes both jumping around like crazy, and following an organized plan of viewing approach moving up and down the sections by color.
