You ever walk up to a painting and start crying? My first time was in front of this piece, and I’m so glad I did. This emotionally potent painting helped me through some of the most challenging times in my life; it’s taught lessons about managing connections with others and self, and managing my feelings... and there’s a sublime and synchronistic story that led me to that moment of release.

I began Summer 2016 riding high, which led to the purchase of my first @sethmcmahon11 piece. I urged Seth to fly out to deliver the piece instead of shipping, and to paint at @sonic_bloom_ Festival. Unbeknownst to me, an artist I had never heard of @jef_logan_artiste was also in attendance, and had saved Seth from a broken down car a year prior. Seth repaid this kindness with some guidance, particularly how to use oil paints in the dusty environment (Jef typically works with acrylics). I never saw Jef or the piece that weekend.

Fast forward a couple months, and I’m off to @arisefestival after leaving some unresolved friction with my significant other at home. You know; the kind that just gnaws away at your soul. I ended up strolling through the art gallery and tried without avail to distract myself and forget about it. As I turned to leave, I ran smack dab into this painting. It demanded that I dig deep and it demanded honesty.

When my sobbing subsided, I I collected myself and asked who the artist was, found out their birthday was currently happening, and decided to make their day providing my patronage. It wasn’t until months later that I met Jef online, and saw a post he made from Sonic Bloom thanking Seth for his continued advice and inspiration. MIND BLOWN. I inadvertently acquired a piece of art that my actions influenced. Had I not encouraged Seth to fly out, who knows if this artifact would exist in the way it does today, and have made the intense impact it made on myself and many others.
